How to choose a Netbook Case?
A year ago there were not many choices for a netbook case or netbook bag. You could use the sleeve that came with you netbook, you could find a small notebook case or you could use a case for a portable DVD player or some other small electronic. But today, there are many more netbook cases to choose from.
After sampling many netbook cases, we have made a list of the attributes to consider when looking for your new netbook case:
If you want to carry your power cord with you then you will need more than a sleeve. The netbook manufacturers worked very hard to get a lot of computing power into a small form, but they certainly did not spend any engineering time on the power cord. While the battery power of my netbooks can be 2-8 hours, you still need to carry the power cord.
Decide when you need a separate netbook case and where you will be going. Sometimes you can slip your netbook into another briefcase or purse, but other times you might just be heading out to a coffee shop and don’t want to carry much, that is the perfect time for a netbook case. Find a case that is just large enough to hold your netbook and the few items you want to carry. Remember you bought a netbook to have a smaller computer so don’t load yourself down with a lot of stuff you don’t need to carry. The netbook bag size that is perfect holds a netbook, power cord, phone, wallet and keys and a little paper notepad — thats all you need.
What is the style you want to project when using a netbook case? Netbooks have a great cool factor when you take them out, strangers ask what is that little computer? So you want to take it out of a netbook bag that conveys the same unique style. Don’t settle for a boring small version of a laptop case. Look for a netbook bag that has the same originality as your netbook.
